Community Care Events
We understand in order to be resilient, one must be resourced on all levels of who we truly are-
bio-psycho-social-spiritual beings. We feel the current model of self-care puts the onus on the individual to make huge changes during times of fatigue and exhaustion in a culture and society with systems that widely do not support caring for oneself.
So we are cultivating what we call 'community care' events as our way of caring for those in our community; each of us has something to offer each other that can be supportive to others on all levels of our being when we come together. Because not everyone has the material resources to go on long retreats in far off locations, or maintain a daily spiritual practice without the help of others, or the ability to create a space that facilitates rest, restoration, and nourishment; we are offering what resources we have for all in our community.
Check back as we continue to add more events based on the needs of our community. If you are a member of the community, and would like to see a specific offering, please visit our Contact Us page to give us your feedback.

If you are a teacher, or service provider interested in offering your workshop or event at our studio, or perhaps wish to partner with us in weekly class offerings, please call to speak with Amber directly.

Mantra yoga is a science of sound. Mantra is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘mind protector’ or ‘mind instrument’. Mantra has the power to protect the mind from negative vibrations and create positive vibrations, both within and around us. Mantra has been used since Vedic times in India,
thousands of years ago, as a means of accessing deeper states of consciousness through sound.
The Yogic Scriptures of Kashmir Shaivism describe mantra as the pulsation or vibration of consciousness itself. The vibrations of these sounds purify our minds and refine our consciousness. Our conscious awareness can be likened to a radio station or frequency: we can tune our awareness to any station, frequency, or vibration. Typically, in our daily lives, we tune-in to gross or mundane frequencies of awareness, like old rock and roll songs.
By practicing tuning-in to higher, more subtle and refined frequencies through chanting mantra, we begin to experience a part of ourselves beyond our minds, beyond our emotions, and beyond the stress, hustle, and bustle of our daily lives.
In the ShambhavAnanda School of Yoga, we chant Sanskrit sounds that were originally heard by ancient rishis, or seers, in the deepest states of meditation. We invite you to join us in chanting the Sanskrit mantras as a way to tune-in to, and begin to experience, a state of pure, blissful, conscious awareness inside each of us.

Seasonal Day Retreats
We offer in studio day retreats on a seasonal basis as a way to provide the vital resources of rest, regulation, and self-care in community in an accessible and affordable format. Space is limited to groups of 6 so that individual support and resources may still be provided to those in attendance. Students will leave with many tools to choose from for their own self-care needs after experiencing them, and gaining a felt sense and insight into what is needed most right now.
